Rank decay in Dota 2
Dota 2 has no inactivity decay: your MMR stays where you left it, however long you are away.
Placements and the season reset
New accounts calibrate over their first ranked games; the number depends on how confident the system is in your rating. You can also choose to recalibrate.
Season reset
There is no forced seasonal reset. The Summer Scrub 2026 update rescaled Immortal MMR while keeping everyone's relative position.
Who can you queue with?
Once your MMR is 8,500 or higher you can no longer queue ranked in a party: every ranked game is solo and uses Immortal Draft. Below that, parties can queue ranked.

No. Your MMR stays the same while you are away.
Can high-MMR players party in Dota 2 ranked?
Not from 8,500 MMR: from there every ranked game is solo, in Immortal Draft.
