Placements and the season reset

Apex has no fixed placement matches. At each reset you are given a starting tier from your hidden ranked matchmaking rating; brand-new players are seeded from their unranked rating.

Season reset

Ranked points reset twice a season. At the season start and at the start of split two. Season 31 began on 3 November 2026; Respawn plans to add Iron, Emerald and Grandmaster in Season 32.
