Real match lengths, not averages

Every game is counted at its own duration. Most playtime sites multiply your game count by a typical match time, which scores a 15-minute remake exactly like a 48-minute slugfest. We add up the clock Riot recorded for each one.

Every queue, one number

Ranked, normals, ARAM, rotating modes and remakes all land in the same total. Queue time, champion select and the loading screen do not — Riot only records the in-game clock, so nobody can count those.

No login, no account linking

A Riot ID is public. Pick your region, type the name and the tagline after the #, and that is the whole handshake — no password, no authorisation screen, nothing kept against your account.

How much time have I spent in League of Legends?

There is no hours-played counter in the League client. Your profile shows current-season statistics and a recent match list, and that is where it stops — so the only way to see a lifetime figure is to have something read your match history back out of the Riot API and add it up. That is what the calculator above does.

  • Riot keeps match records for a limited window — roughly the last two years. Every playtime calculator, ours included, can only see inside it, so a lifetime total really means as far back as Riot still serves.
  • We read up to the 2,000 most recent games inside that window. If your account is older or you play a great deal, the number on screen is a floor, not a ceiling.
  • Smurfs are separate accounts, so they carry separate histories. Run each Riot ID once and add the totals yourself if you want the honest number.

Want detail rather than a total? Per-champion and per-season breakdowns live in your client profile. For where all that playtime actually put you, our LoL MMR checker estimates the rating behind your rank, and the LoL rank explainer covers how the ladder above you is built.

How much money have I spent in League of Legends?

Riot is far more forthcoming about your wallet than about your hours. An official support article reads your own purchase history back to you once you sign in — no third-party tool needed, and none could do it anyway, because purchases are private to the account.

  1. 1. Open League of Legends support and sign in with the account you want to check.
  2. 2. Find the article on how much money you have spent. The total is generated inside the page itself.
  3. 3. If that widget is down, submit a ticket asking the same question — the figure comes back automatically.

It covers RP and anything bought through Riot on that account. Anything bought outside Riot is not in it.

Wasted, or invested?

A thousand hours is a thousand hours whether you spent it on the Rift, on a box set or on an instrument. What decides how it reads is what you have to show for it. If the hours are there but the rank never followed, that gap is the part worth doing something about — and it closes in days rather than seasons.

How do I check how many hours I have played in League of Legends?

Pick your region above, type your Riot ID and its tagline (the part after the #) and press calculate. The tool reads your match history from Riot and adds up the real length of every game it finds, then reports the total as days, hours and the number of matches counted.

Does League of Legends show your total playtime?

No. The client shows current-season statistics and a recent match list, and Riot has never shipped a lifetime hours-played counter for League. That is the whole reason playtime calculators exist — the data sits in the Riot API, it is just not surfaced anywhere in the game.

How far back does the calculator go?

As far back as Riot still serves. Riot keeps match records for a limited window — roughly the last two years — and we read up to the 2,000 most recent games inside it. If your account is older than that, your true lifetime figure is higher than the number on screen; no third-party tool can reach the games Riot has already dropped.

Does it count queue time and champion select?

No. Riot records the in-game clock only, so lobbies, queue dodges, champion select and the loading screen are not in the total. Everything you actually spent on the Rift is — including remakes, because they happened.

How accurate is it?

Every match is counted at its own length rather than at an average. Most playtime sites multiply your game count by a typical game time, which treats a 15-minute remake and a 48-minute slugfest as the same game. Within the window Riot serves, this total is exact.

Do I need to log in or link my Riot account?

No. A Riot ID is public, so nothing is connected, authorised or stored against your account. You never hand over a password, and you can look up any player on any of the supported regions.

Why does a playtime checker return an error?

Almost always a rate limit rather than a broken page. Riot throttles its API for everyone at peak, and we cap how many lookups a single visitor can run in a short window so nobody can drain the key the rest of the site shares. Check the Riot ID and tagline match the game exactly, confirm the region, and try again in a few minutes.

How much money have I spent in League of Legends?

Riot answers that one itself. Sign in to League of Legends support and open the "How much money have I spent" article — it reads your own purchase history back to you. It counts RP and anything bought through Riot, and nothing bought anywhere else.
