How the servers compare

The same rank is rarer on some servers than others. Every server is counted separately, from the same source and on the same day.

Reading the ladder

Why our numbers differ from other sites

Most distribution charts come from a tracker that only knows the players who looked themselves up, which skews towards keen players and high ranks. We ask Riot's ranked API how many players hold each division, so every ranked account on a server counts once, including the ones nobody ever searched for. The one exception is Master on the largest servers, where the API stops at 10,000 players.

Master, Grandmaster and Challenger

The top three tiers are not divisions. Master is open to anyone who reaches it, while Grandmaster and Challenger are fixed-size leaderboards per server, so their share depends on how big the server is. That is why the same rank reads as rarer on a large server than on a small one.

Methodology

Where these numbers come from

Counted from Riot Games' league-v4 API: for every server and every division from Iron IV to Diamond I we count the ranked Solo/Duo entries, and we read Master, Grandmaster and Challenger from their league endpoints. A player is counted once on the server they play on, in the division they currently hold this split. Riot's API returns at most 10,000 Master players per server, so Master is undercounted on the largest servers; those tables say so. The share of a division is its player count divided by all ranked players counted. Refreshed weekly; the date on each table is the day it was counted.

Move up the ladder

Every rank you climb puts you above a bigger share of the player base. Our boosters and coaches play at the top of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how our services work, pricing, and account safety.

Still have questions?Contact us

Where does this League of Legends rank distribution come from?

From Riot's own ranked API. We count the players in every division on every server we can read, rather than sampling players who visited a stats site, and refresh the count every week.

Does the distribution include Flex queue?

No. These tables are Ranked Solo/Duo, which is the queue most players mean when they talk about their rank. Flex has its own separate ladder.

Why is Challenger rarer on some servers than others?

Grandmaster and Challenger hold a fixed number of players per server. On a server with millions of ranked players that fixed number is a tiny fraction; on a smaller server the same number of slots is a larger share.

Does the distribution change during a season?

Yes. Right after a ranked reset players are bunched lower down, and the ladder spreads out as the split goes on. That is why we recount every week and date each table.
