Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian

To obtain Atiesh, you must finish a specific quest chain. Initially, you are required to collect 40 Splinters of Atiesh by defeating Naxxramas bosses. Following that, you must slay C'Thun and Kel'Thuzad within their specific raids to obtain the staff components. Lastly, you need to travel to Stratholme and overcome Atiesh himself to purify the staff from its corruption. It is also necessary to maintain at least neutral standing with the Brood of Nozdormu, as Anachronos is the NPC responsible for providing the quest and granting the staff.

As a magical staff, the legendary Atiesh is restricted to a specific selection of classes: Druids, Mages, Priests, and Warlocks.

Dedicated Warcraft enthusiasts will surely identify this legendary staff, which was previously held by Medivh, the Last Guardian, although its history of ownership extends well beyond him. Created from the “seed of hate”, the staff was rumored to bestow immense power upon its owner, yet it was also considered cursed and was locked away shortly following the passing of Medivh.

Regarding in-game utility, it provides the user with several magical buffs, though its primary benefits are the stat bonuses the weapon grants. Additionally, it allows for the creation of a portal to Karazhan.

Atiesh is not obtained as a loot drop from any single foe; rather, it must be assembled by progressing through a dedicated questline. Fortunately, C'Thun and Kel'Thuzad provide the associated Base of Atiesh and Staff Head of Atiesh with a 100% drop rate provided the quest is currently active.

Although players had the opportunity to acquire this legendary staff for their personal inventories during the era of Vanilla WoW, the staff is currently wielded by Khadgar within the game's lore.
