Frequently asked questions

What are personal missions in World of Tanks?+

Personal missions serve as distinct tasks that players can finish to earn significant rewards. The initial collection of personal missions debuted in 2015 via “The Long-Awaited Backup” campaign, followed by the 2018 release of the second Campaign, titled “The Second Front”. Every Campaign is comprised of individual operations, with each one granting the player a unique tank upon completion.

“The Second Front” encompasses three Operations, each containing 60 Personal Missions. These missions are organized into four branches, with 15 missions in each branch. While the previous Campaign utilized tank classes to divide these branches, the current one uses nations instead. Finishing each Operation grants you the tank that the Operation is named after.

Within “The Second Front,” all three operations present varying types of challenges. The first operation focuses on the player’s persistence, requiring the completion of a major goal across several matches. The second Operation emphasizes skill, demanding that you reach specific objectives in just one match. The final one measures your consistency, asking for a certain level of performance across a set number of games.

Be aware that every Operation has specific Tier requirements. Tiers VI-X for Excalibur, Tiers VII-X for Chimera and Tiers VIII-X for Object 279 Early.

Do you have to complete the first campaign before the second?+

No. You are permitted to perform the operations in any sequence you prefer. Should you wish to bypass the first Campaign and proceed directly to the second, you are welcome to do so! Furthermore, it is possible to advance through both campaigns concurrently. For instance, you might select comparable missions from both campaigns to address two requirements at once.

Can you switch between the missions?+

This is possible, though certain constraints apply. Primarily, the 15th and final mission of each branch can only be accessed once the main objectives for all preceding missions in that specific branch have been met.

Additionally, while you can advance through both campaigns at the same time, the operations within each Campaign must be finished sequentially. As an example, you are able to work on the third Operation of the first Campaign and the second Operation of the second Campaign simultaneously. However, you cannot begin them until all prior Operations of that specific Campaign have been concluded.

Also, remember that if you change a mission before its primary objective is met, you will forfeit any progress made on it up to that point.

What rewards do you get for personal missions in WoT?+

In general, the second Campaign maintains a reward system similar to the first. Finishing individual personal missions can provide you with “unique medals, badges and emblems, credits, bonds, Free XP, consumables, equipment, Directives, Garage slots, and WoT Premium Account”.

Finishing a branch grants you a blueprint (which operates like the vehicle components from the first Campaign) and a female crew member. Finishing the entire Operation earns you a tank and a camouflage set.

You have the ability to select the nation, vehicle type, and major qualification for the female crew members. They also arrive with 100% qualification, a 100% “zero” Brothers in arms perk, enough XP to reach 100% on a second skill/perk, and a Barracks slot. You can acquire as many as 12 female crew members by the time you finish the second Campaign.

Compared to the first Campaign, there are only three Operations and three tanks to earn. These tanks are Excalibur, Chimera, and Object 279 early. The camo earned at the conclusion of each Operation is specific to the tank you receive. However, if you succeed in finishing all missions with honors — the secondary objectives — you gain the ability to purchase this camo for any tank belonging to the relevant nation.

Do you have to complete secondary objectives in WoTmissions?+

For the most part, secondary objectives are not strictly necessary. Completing them allows you to advance through the Operation faster, and if you finish the 15th mission with honors, you will be granted “Orders,” which permit you to bypass missions that you find too difficult. However, you can successfully complete every mission without bonuses or Orders. You will still receive the majority of your rewards regardless of whether you fulfill the secondary objectives.

That said, there is one concrete benefit to completing secondary objectives. If you manage to finish all Operation missions with honors, you gain the ability to buy the unique camouflage provided at the end of the Operation for any tank of the appropriate nation (the nation of the prize tank).

How do personal missions 2.0 work?+

The design of the second Campaign is largely similar to the first. You navigate to the currently active Operation (or Operations) and pick two missions to pursue — or three if you possess a Premium Account. You are not required to activate multiple missions at once, but doing so can be time-efficient if their objectives overlap.

Despite the name, “personal missions” do not function as distinct gameplay modes; instead, they act as special challenges that must be fulfilled during Random Battles. Only Random Battles (which includes Grand Battles) are valid for completing personal missions. Ensure that you activate the mission prior to entering a battle so that your progress is tracked toward completion.

A notable distinction between the first and second Campaign is that the mission branches in “The Second Front” are organized by nations rather than tank classes. This provides you with greater choice regarding the tank type used for a specific mission, though you are restricted to using tanks from the featured nation.

Everything else remains the same. You must finish all 14 missions in the branch before you can attempt the final mission of that branch. Finishing a single mission branch awards you a female crew member and a blueprint. Fully finishing the Operation grants you a tank, a camo, and unlocks the subsequent Operation in the sequence.
