To FFXIV unlock Palace of the Dead, your character must be at least level 17 and have finished the main scenario quest Into a Copper Hell. Finishing this brief questline grants access to the Palace of the Dead, which is the initial and most legendary deep dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV.
