How to Check Your Win Rate in League of Legends

4 min read

Grinding through the ranks or enjoying a match of Clash with friends? Knowing your numbers is key.

But what numbers? We're talking about your League of Legends win rate. This important percentage tells you how often you're winning, reflecting your champion mastery and room for improvement.

If you're serious about upping your League game, understanding how to check and use your win rate in League of Legends is essential.

So, let's get into how you can find your win rate and precisely how you can use it to your advantage.

Why LoL Stats Like Win Rate Matter

Before we go into how to check, first, it’s crucial to understand why win rate stats matter.

This handy piece of data helps you identify your best champions and roles, track your improvement over each season, and set goals for climbing up the ranked ladder. We’d like to think of this data as a personal performance review.

Also, unlike your duo blaming the team for the loss, the numbers don't lie! For example, a rising win rate usually signals that your macro and micro skills are improving, or you’ve found a champion that clicks for you. And, a declining opposite? Potentially the opposite!

Method 1: Using the League of Legends Client

The League client gives a basic snapshot of your recent performance, but it doesn't show your win rate directly.

What you can see:

  • Match history with wins/losses
  • Stats like KDA, CS per minute, damage, and role performance

What’s missing:

  • No built-in win rate display. You'd have to manually count wins/losses from recent games, which only gives a limited picture.

For full win rate tracking, you’ll need a third-party tool or website.

Method 2: Third-Party LoL Stat Tracking Websites

For those who want more than just a glance at the stats, third-party websites are great! These platforms offer a far more detailed view of your LoL stats, allowing you to understand your performance.

Currently, the best sites for this data are OP.GG and League of Graphs for LoL players of all ranks. They also don't require any downloads; you can view the data straight from the browser.

How to Check Your Win Rate with a Third-Party Website (We’ll use OP.GG as an Example):

  1. Open your browser and head to OP.GG
  2. Select Your Region.
  3. Enter your Summoner Name and Tag, and press search.
  4. Once your profile loads, you view your primary data immediately; however, for a detailed breakdown, press the “Champions” tab to view win rates and stats by champion.

Besides those two, other excellent platforms like Mobalytics offer detailed champion statistics and win rates based on matchups and ranks, while Blitz.GG provides an app that offers real-time data and overlays.

All in all, these sites are fantastic for getting a full breakdown of your champion stats and overall win rate. Some even offer insights into your MMR or trends in your gameplay!

Why Go Third-Party?

  • Historical Data: Access win rates from past seasons, not just the current one.
  • Deeper Analysis: Get more detailed breakdowns by champion, role, specific patches, and even against particular champions.
  • Additional Insights: Many sites offer extra intelligence, such as KDA, CS per minute, vision score, and performance trends, helping you understand the data beyond just the numbers.

Using Your Win Rate to Improve

Knowing your win rate in League of Legends is one thing; however, using that knowledge to improve your play is another!

A high win rate on a particular champion? It may be time to make them your go-to pick. A dipping win rate? It could signal a need to revisit your builds, watch some high-elo VODs, or even hire a coach for tailored League tips.

Don’t just look at the percentage on these sites; instead, look at the context if you want to improve. For example, how many games have you played? Is this win rate in solo queue or flex?

Regular stat tracking allows you to spot trends, understand your strengths, and pinpoint areas that aren’t going too well. Ultimately, this data-driven approach is what separates the casual League player from the one who’s serious about climbing.
