First introduced into the game in a form of event, Wingman has since then become a full-time standalone game mode within CS:GO and will likely stay the same in CS2. The main difference between Wingman compared to the standard matches is that you’re playing 2v2 instead of 5v5. The maps are also much smaller to accommodate for the smaller team size.

Wingman is considered to be much more casual compared to classic game mode, but it doesn’t mean that it's not taken seriously. It has the same ranking as the other other game modes and if anything, the personal skills of every single player become much more important now that they can’t rely on their teammates to carry the game.
